HTPOW' high power laser pointer are available in either collimated or adjustable-focus varieties and provide output powers ranging from 0.85 mW to 4.5 mW (laser safety Class 2 or 3R depending on the model). Each module has an output beam shape that is either elliptical or round, as indicated in the tables below. I think the wow factor is more for the premise that you can used the same enclosure and just change out the extruder assembly for the engraver module. Wouldn't you have to change out the power supply as well as focusing unit to really get more wattage.Sure it's not much wattage on the laser, I don't know if it could be and be exchangeable. Isn't the power supply more of a factor on the laser wattage. Then wouldn't you have a dedicated unit?

A green laser pointer can quite inadvertently reflect off a nearby reflective surface, such as a window or even a shiny bit of metal, straight into someone's eyes. I have worked with lasers and radioactive materials.I have worked on oil rigs and with powerful radio and radar transmitters. Warnings should always be given when using lasers. It contains the laser diodes, the reading sensors, lenses and mirrors. I have worked on iron ore crushers and on top of gigantic tanks of caustic soda in alumina refineries.

The sled is the part of a dvd/cd drive that moves lineally accross the disc.So far it has been able to cut through any type and color of the adhesive plastic that I have tried. It is quite easy to cut stencils or stickers. This is what I find by far the most useful application for this laser cutter. I did some experimentation with masking off parts of a steel plate with laser cut stencils and then I created rust by using Hydrochloric acid and Hydrogen peroxide. A word of caution, do NOT do this inside. I did and now I have a nice rust coat on every un protected piece of metal in my lab.

About 30 years ago, It was the consumer market of optical storage that led to the development of firstly the 200mw Laser Pen for CD, and later to the development of red for DVD and violet for Blu-ray. Compact laser modules for industrial use must follow the markets that demand high volumes of laser diodes.Today, the new consumer market of portable projection systems makes the green laser diode available also for the compact laser modules.
